School and educational visits at GWSR
Schools so far that have visited The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway and travelled on the 1950s/60s diesel trains are listed below:
As part of the early years’ experience, we offer the option of a trip on the heritage DMU, with its fantastic open views of the track and the surrounding countryside. Particularly appropriate for Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, this option gives pupils the experience of a train ride, and enables them to see the basics of how a train runs and watch how the driver controls the train. This option is also available on days when the railway is not operating steam trains, when a DMU can be provided for exclusive schools use to suit your timetable.
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway offers a number of varied opportunities for school visits to enhance delivery of the National Curriculum, providing a great educational experience to help bring learning to life.
